Art inspires… it is for everyone!
Many have heard me say this over and over again. My art is motivated by beauty. I strongly feel there is no place for divisive imagery in it. Let’s grow beyond our electronic devices. It’s time to discover the beauty of art that surrounds and unites us all.
Here is where you may enjoy my oil paintings over the next six months:
CHAT: Catoctin Holiday Art Tour http://www.catoctinart.com/#artists
If you’ve never heard of CHAT, it is a miniature version of WLAST (Western Loudoun Art and Studio Tour). On November 16 and 17, take this self guided driving tour of Lovettsville’s art studios. There are 9 locations with 21 artists. I will be at Stop #2, Earth, Wind and Fleece, along with studio owner, Susan Trask, and Trish Harris. Susan’s studio is drop dead gorgeous. We will have a mix of silk and alpaca products, Temari hand embroidered globes, and oil paintings, miniature to large, by yours truly. Opportunity to purchase originals, prints, cards. 13833 Berlin Tpk., Lovettsville, VA 20180.
AIM Gallery’s GASP: Great Art, Small Prices https://www.facebook.com/theartistsinmiddleburg.org/
Back by popular demand during the season of gift-giving, AIM’s art show runs November 2 through December 31, 2019. This is an excellent buying opportunity as all art is priced below $500. I have two oil paintings among this group of over 80 works. Plus maybe a surprise miniature or two. Opening reception is Saturday, November 2, 2-4pm. 102 West Washington St., Middleburg 20118.
In November and December, a sampling of my current collection, “A World of Color”, is on display at Ashburn Library, located at 43316 Hay Rd., Ashburn, VA 20147. There is an importance to art in a public place. For me, the artist, I wish for as many people as possible to see my work. The library is an icon of intellectual pursuit. Art dressing its wall space serves as a passive background to the visitor’s activity. My hope is that my paintings will put a smile on a few faces.
Franklin Park Arts Center: Winter Light https://www.franklinparkartscenter.org/exhibitions/
December 6, 2019 through January 5, 2020 Franklin Park Arts Center’s upcoming show and sale is an art challenge- to capture the beauty of winter light. ‘My Favorite Tree’, oil and cold wax on linen is among the collection, hanging on the same walls that were occupied by the works of Bob Ross! How cool is that?! Opening reception is Sunday, December 8, 1-2:30pm at 36441 Blueridge View Ln., Purcellville, VA 20132.
District Arts https://districtarts.com
Located in the heart of downtown Frederick, District Arts features two and three dimensional contemporary works. As a gallery artist, there is a selection of my paintings on display. Excellent buying opportunity that supports regional artists. 1st Saturday festivities include ‘Meet the Artists’ reception on December 7, 5-7pm. 15 N. Market St., Frederick, MD 21701.
