News in Brief

—This past Saturday, Leesburg’s Arts in the Alley event culminated with FOLPA’s first auction project. A total of $4100 was raised! All the windows and shutters sold. Pictured above is my contribution, titled ‘Mornin’, Glory!’. FOLPA is Town of Leesburg’s fundraising support group for the arts.

—The Loudoun Sketch Club has elected a new president- ME! This is a talented group of artists. I aim to make them proud when we celebrate 75 years as a club in 2019. No, that’s not a typo. The Club was founded in 1944 and is Loudoun’s first arts organization. Here is the link to our website for more about our history.

—Sad to let you all know that The Cooley Gallery in Downtown Leesburg will be closing its doors at the end of the year. Madi and Chris are moving on with young ones and other life adventures.
