For most of us the new year blows in with the cold realization that we have gained too much weight over the holidays. But I like to think of this energy shift in January‘s dark days as a clean sweep and the perfect opportunity to plot and plan my goals and schedule for the year. Get inspired and focus!
A mental house cleaning is first. For the artist in me this includes reaffirming to always paint from the fires in my soul, putting my art out there for all the world to enjoy and sparking the creativity of others through teaching the inner artist workshops and masterpiece classes.
The physical house cleaning includes continuing to be proactive about my health (just can’t retire the doctor in me), unclutter my art studio and give the residence a feng shui makeover. The end of January ushers in the Chinese New Year. 2017 celebrates the yin fire rooster (a few tips at the bottom of this newsletter).
“Art…inspires. It’s for everyone!”
Thank you for following my art. You inspire me with your comments and stories. Keep them coming.

The Year of the Yin Fire Rooster
Auspicious sectors are: East, Southeast, Northeast and Center
Wear the colors of red, orange, yellow, pink and lilac.
The wealth corner is in the east. Decorate with fire colors and earth elements. Also symbols of wealth.
The area of greatest illness and misfortune is the south. Decorate with heavy round metal objects and keep quiet.
If you are always looking ahead, the sector for future wealth is the southeast. Use symbols of wealth here to encourage prosperity for next year.
Remember, the practice of feng shui uses the flow of energy or chi to create a healthy, balanced environment in your home or office where you and your family may thrive.
